Third Death Anniversary of M. H. Panhwar

M. H. Panhwar’s third death anniversary took place at Sindhi Language Authority auditorium on 30th April 2010. The chief guest of the event was Ms. Sassui Palijo, Minister for Culture Government of Sindh, the other speakers included Dr. Fehmeeda Hussain, Mr. Hameed Sindhi, Inayat Baloch, Dr. Iqbal Panhwar, Masaood Lohar, Hashim Lagghari, Zulfikar Halipoto, Nazir Memon, Aijaz Qureshi, Senator Kazi Abdul Majid, Niaz Sindhi, Nafees Ahmed Nashad, Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Lakho, Umer Soomro, Gul Mohammad Umrani, Mohammad Ali Panhwar and Sani Panhwar.
Ms. Sassui Palijo announced that M. H. Panhwar Chair would be established at Shah Latif Campus Khyrpur to facilitate research on agriculture. She said that culture department will publish two books of late M. H. Panhwar by end of the year. Ms. Palijo also announced that the culture department will bear the cost of construction of the library portion of the project initiated by M. H. Panhwar Trust at Jamshoro which will include the personal collection of M. H. Panhwar’s 50,000 books.
Chairman Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Fehmeeda Hussain announced that the authority will translate the book titled “Chronological Dictionary of Sindh” in Sindhi language.
Speaking at the occasion Mr. Mohammad Ali Panhwar and Sani Hussain Panhwar thanked Ms. Sasui Palijo for making the announcement of publishing Mr. M. H. Panhwar’s books and funding for library portion of their project. They also thanked all the participants.
The event was moderated by Mr. Naseer Mirza, it started at 6:30 pm and was attended by over 300 people and it lasted till 11:00 pm followed by the dinner.
